What is a Windows Installer or MSI
Windows Installer or MSI technology is one used to install Volume Licensed Office products
These products are distributed via the Volume License Service Center (VLSC) site
The VLSC site contains the installation files as well as activation keys (KMS Host, MAK, etc.) 
What is a Click-to-Run (C2R)
Click-to-Run (C2R) technology is used to install Subscription-based or retail Perpetual Office products
Commercial Subscription products are installed from the Office Portal
Retail Perpetual products are installed from Office.com/setup

Office 365 (2016 version) Subscription product with Project 2016 MSI and/or Visio 2016 MSI
Side by Side installation of MSI based Visio 2016 and Project 2016 isn’t compatible with the 2016 Click-to-Run version of Office 365 ProPlus or Office 365 Business.  
Consider the following scenario
Your company owns Volume Licensed (MSI) versions of Project 2016 and/or Visio 2016
You have installed Office 365 ProPlus or Business subscription (C2R) for Office
You want to continue using the Volume Licensed versions of Project 2016 and/or Visio 2016

How does that help?
C2R-P versions of Visio 2016 and Project 2016 are compatible with Office 365 (2016 version)

Can be activated using your existing Volume License keys from VLSC (KMS Host or MAK)
