Ask a friend to catch you up on what you’ve missed.

Start to read a little bit each night so you can get used to it faster. Look up words you don’t know. Taking the time to look up these words will help you understanding the book, and also building your vocabulary.

6 TAKE NOTES! Ask your teacher to repeat what you missed.
Write the date at the top of the sheet, also the heading of the subject. Write down key facts and dates. Don’t worry about writing down complete sentences, it’ll improve your abbreviations and shortcuts. Compare your notes with a classmate. You might find some things you and your classmate haven’t found.

7 KEEP TRACK OF YOUR GRADES!
Keep track of your grades. To get an A, you will have to get a 90% or more. Your teachers can breakdown of the points from classwork, homework, tests, and maybe participation. Every time you get your work back, record your mark on a blank piece of paper. Review your work and try and make improvements, if you need to.

8 DEVELOP YOUR TEST-TAKING SKILLS!
Listen to the instructions your teacher gives before you start the test. Be sure to leave enough time to finish your test, stop looking at the clock, because it’ll cause more stress. When you’re done your test, make sure to double check your answers. Relax when you take the test.
