2 “To make disciples, that make disciples”
Our Mission 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” “To make disciples, that make disciples”

3 3 Gospel Commitments Gospel Truth - We are committed to the truth of scripture, and believe its central message is the Gospel; the message of God’s gracious work to redeem sinners. Gospel Community - We are committed to knowing, loving and serving one another as brothers and sisters united in Christ. Gospel Mission - Individually and corporately, we are committed to declaring and demonstrating the Gospel to our communities, our cities and the nations.

4 Gospel Community We were created to be relational
Genesis 1:26 Sin bring chaos to relationships The gospel brings restoration to relationships You shall love God with everything that you are. What God gives to you is to be directed toward others. The gospel establishes a new community called the church (ekklesia).

5 What’s the church for? It’s a country club A place to escape and be with “my kind”. It’s an all inclusive facility “for $10 a month and I get all the services!” It’s a moralistic candy store serving up all sorts of great tasting, empty treats. a place where all the goody-goody people go.

6 What’s the primary purpose of the church?
It’s a place to sing and to worship! It’s a place of fellowship and encouragement! It’s a place to learn sound doctrine! The primary purpose of the church is to fulfill it’s mission!

7 The church…a gospel community… exists because the mission of making disciples is not over yet. The day the mission is over, the need for the church will be over. Today is not that day.

8 Ephesians 4:1-16 …but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

9 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Duty- protects Respect- is kind, not rude Selfless service- does not seek its own Honor- is not envious, proud, or boastful Integrity- does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. Personal courage- is not provoked, endures all things.

12 Obey your orders No matter where you are in life, God’s word speaks to the responsibilities that we must fulfill. Don’t get captured No matter where you are in life, the enemy and the world want to deceive and confuse you. Free the captured No matter where you are in life, you will find those that are suffering the effects of rebellion, disobedience and ignorance. Fulfill your mission No matter where you are in life, you have an obligation to fulfill and you are being prepared by God to fulfill even more.

13 Ephesians 4:1-16 …but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

14 Ephesians 4:1-16 …but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

15 “Camaraderie is built by shared experience, shared hardship, and shared purpose. Ranger leaders always look for ways to remind each man that he’s part of something important something bigger than himself…what an honor it was to belong to a group whose members pledged to cultivate an environment where men felt compelled not to be simply good, but better. Church should be a place where I am reminded of the value of pursuing the cause of Christ, a place where I am encouraged to be not only good, but better. I want the church I attend to be like a tight- knit army unit, with a culture where brothers and sisters would share my beliefs and sense of purpose will keep me on track—and not hesitate to let me know if I’m becoming a liability to myself, my family of His purpose.” ~Chuck Holton

16 There is no confusion about Whose side we are on!
