Individual students will not get a score – no score provided for individual students Students are given credit for the highest score achieved in this model At this point we have data only for the three levels – prepared, approaching prepared, and not prepared Where a student falls at the end on this chart is what counts towards LEAs This is still a draft, the concept approved by the state board, but has not been approved yet It will always be one year behind, like graduation rate

10 DataQuest and CALPADS The following data in DataQuest comes directly from CALPADS: All Student demographic data Student Behavior data dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/

11 California Dashboard and CALPADS
Most of the State Indicators in the new California Dashboard will be populated by data directly from CALPADS. English Learner Indicator – will be derived from data submitted in Fall 1 on EL and RFEP students. Chronic Absence Indicator – will be derived from data submitted in EOY 3 in the new Student Attendance file. Graduation Rate Indicator – will be derived from enrollment information submitted for previous year graduates and dropouts in Fall 1. Suspension Rate Indicator – will be derived from behavior information submitted in EOY 3. College/Career Indicator – will be derived from student course completion data submitted in EOY 1.

12 CALPADS Submission Windows
Fall 1 Fall 2 EOY 1, 2, 3 As of Census Day – 1st Wednesday in October Primary Data Submitted: Current Year Enrollment Counts Prior Year Grads and Dropouts Immigrant Counts English Learner Counts Certification Deadline beginning of December. Amendment Window closes end of January. As of Census Day – 1st Wednesday in October Primary Data Submitted: Student Course Enrollments Teacher and Certificated Staff Assignments English Learner Education Services Certification Deadline beginning of March. Amendment Window closes end of March. Encompasses entire school year Primary Data Submitted: Course Completion for Grades 7-12 CTE participants, concentrators, and completers Program Participation Student Discipline Student Attendance (new for ) Certification Deadline end of July. Amendment Window closes mid- August

13 College Courses in CALPADS
Districts have 2 ways to denote College courses in CALPADS: Use a Dual Enrollment State course code OR Mark the Course Instructional Level Code as “College Credit-16” Dual Enrollment State Course Code Subject 2190 English Language Arts 2290 Foreign Languages 2490 Mathematics 2690 Science 2790 History/Social Science 2890 Visual or Performing Arts 6090 Other Course data and student grades must post from master schedule
