drives Master Timetable determines what courses can & will be offered to students changes to student initial choices difficult… may be impossible… after the time table has been set MOST IMPORTANTLY… It sets a path for “Life after KAL” 1

9 Typical University Requirements
English 12 and 3 or 4 more provincially examinable courses Geology 12 Biology 12 Chemistry 12 Physics 12 Geography 12 History 12 Literature 12 Math 12 French 12 First Nations 12

10 Provincial Exams Grade 12 exams=40% final mark
Grade 11 exam =20% final mark Grade 12 exams=40% final mark English 12 or Communications 12 only mandatory exam

11 Gr.12 Provincial Exams ALL GRADE 12 PROVINICAL EXAMS— EXCEPT English/Communication 12 are OPTIONAL So, what about going to college or university What Universities/colleges STILL require the exams 3

12 Math Options Principles 12 Calculus 12 65% or better in Math 11
Required for Business, Science Engineering programs 70-80% or better is necessary Calculus 12 Significant interest-skill in Math Recommended for Business, Science Engineering programs

13 Do I need a 2nd language? A second language is not required for graduation 2nd language to grade 11 may be required for BC University entrance* only UBC-Vancouver UVIC Arts (*UVIC Science does not require 2nd language) SFU Most Apprenticeships, Trade Programs do not require 2nd language

14 Elective Courses Courses offered next year are determined by:
