9 NCDS: Opportunities July 2016: September 2016: November 2016:
Thirty-Seventh Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government the Conference clear directive to move the CARICOM towards attainment of the WHO NCD Goals and Targets. September 2016: Caribbean Cooperation in Health IV (CCH IV) adopted by the Thirtieth Meeting of the COHSOD November 2016: 43rd Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED)  approved "Inter-sectoral Action against Non-Communicable Diseases” and establishment of Regional Multi-sector Taskforce in collaboration with COHSOD

10 NCDs : A Call to Action In keeping with the decisions arising from international commitments on NCDs, I strongly call upon the Commonwealth Health Ministers to: Re-commit to the Global NCD Agenda; Establish Regional Multi-Sector Taskforce on NCDs; Implement national legislation consistent with the provisions of the WHO FCTC and its guidelines; Develop road-map to address childhood obesity among our school population; Implement policies ( including fiscal ) to reduce consumption of tobacco, alcohol, sugar-sweetened beverages and energy dense nutrient-poor products; 6. Establish a regulatory regime for the compulsory food labelling of all commercially manufactured foods; 7. Strengthen health systems for NCD management with focus on primary health care and Universal Access.
