Autumn term
Welcome back, we hope you had an enjoyable summer and a big hello to all our new children and their parents who are joining Bizzy Bears this term. This term we will be focused on settling the children in to Pre school and following their interests, we will also be talking about Autumn and learning about harvest time.
Bizzy Bears Preschool Staff
For those of you who are new to Bizzy Bears we would like to introduce our team:
Caroline - I am the owner and Manager of Bizzy Bears, you can find me in the setting every day except for Tuesdays which is my day off. I am responsible for the day to day running of the Preschool.
Laura -Deputy Supervisor. Laura is responsible for the day to day running of the Preschool in my absence. She is also key person to green group.
Laura, Kirstie, Kelly and Sarah- Pre school Practitioners, Work with our 3 and 4 year olds in red and green group.
Louise and Catherine-Preschool Practitioners, work with our 2 year olds in blue and yellow group.
Sun Safety
As the weather continues to be warm, please can all children bring in a sun hat and a named bottle of sun cream. Please can we also ask that you apply sun cream to your child before coming to pre school and we will top it up as required. Please put your child’s sun cream into the basket located in the corridor. The children enjoy being outside in the warmer weather but we do limit the time they are out when the weather becomes particularly warm and extra drinks are supplied.
Two Year old Early funded learning and Three/four year old funding
Parents of children eligible for the Autumn term funding will need to complete a parent/carer declaration, which will be given out at Preschool w/c 11th September. You will need to provide your child’s birth certificate (if we do not already have a copy) and a current utility bill displaying your postcode(no older than 3 months). We are required to retain a copy of each child’s birth certificate and utility bill, these will be kept in a safe and secure file only accessible to the Northamptonshire county council when required. As part of the 3 and 4 year old funding, if you are eligible to certain benefits your child may qualify for EYPP a supplement which is paid directly to Bizzy Bears to improve outcomes for all children. To find out if you are eligible please visit the on line eligibility checker at: If you are found to be eligible you will be given a reference number which you will need to include on your Parent carer contract. If you would like further information about funded Early learning, please speak to a member of staff. All forms need to be completed by Thursday 14th September.

2. Tempest Photography 30 hours funded childcare Opening times
From September 2017 families of 3 and 4 year olds may now be able to claim up to 30 hours a week of free childcare if they are both working or if you are a lone parent working.
You can find out if you are eligible to claim the free 30 hours and apply via
If you qualify, you will be able to claim this childcare on the funding block after your child's 3rd birthday.
Bizzy Bears is offering 30 hours of free childcare from 9.00am-3.00pm Monday-Friday for those eligible families. Please ask a member of staff for more details.
Opening times
Bizzy Bears will be opening at 9.00am-3.00pm for our children who are claiming the 30 hours extended funded childcare and at 9.15am- 3.00pm for all other children.
Sign language
This term we will be introducing Makaton sign language as a communication aid to all of our children. Makaton is designed to support spoken language and will be used alongside verbal communication. We will introduce one sign a week which will be displayed on our notice board in the corridor and on our facebook page. For more information on Makaton you can visit
Fee payments
Please can we request that all fees are paid on your child’s first session of the week. Payments can be paid in Preschool by cash or cheque or by internet bank transfer(all bank details are included on your child’s invoice). We have reviewed our Fee paying policy for this term to include an updated procedure on Non payment of Preschool fees. A copy of this policy can be viewed at Bizzy Bears on the parents notice board, in our policies folder located in the changing room and on our Preschool website.
Pre school Communication
On our Preschool website, Information on the curriculum, newsletters, important dates, events and our monthly snack menu are included as well as a gallery of the latest activities and events at Bizzy Bears. The password for the picture gallery ….. You can find us at If there is anything you would like added please let us know and don’t forget to leave a message in the guestbook ! We would like to inform all parents and carers that we also have a Preschool facebook page. The prime use for this page will be to display photographs of activities which we have carried out (no identifiable children will be included in these photographs), displaying reminders such as funding dates and Preschool events. Please like our page and check regularly for any updates. Please note we will not be using this page to receive messages as it will not be checked on a regular basis so please continue to telephone or us in the usual way.
Tempest Photography
On Friday October 13th we have a photographer coming into Pre-School to take individual and family photographs. All children and families are welcome, the photographer will be at Bizzy Bears from 8.45am until 11.30am. Please see a member of staff to arrange a time slot if your child is not in that day or if you wish your child to have their photograph taken with siblings. If you do not want your child’s photograph taken please inform a member of staff.
