1 Could you raise extra money through your company?
Many companies, including your own, are often part of charity fundraising schemes. For example, last year, Barclays and Lloyds banks, which some of our parents work for, donated between them a fantastic £3,500 in 'match giving' and 'pound to pound' schemes.  But it's not just large banks that do this. Many companies, of any size, are able to donate to our school using one of their own similar charity schemes. It also offers companies tax relief.  They can only do this if they are donating to a registered charity. Well good news folks, we are a charity registered with the charity commission! So please, could you, your partner or a family member speak to their employer to find out if this is something they can offer. In a small school like ours, every penny counts and it's an easy and great way to raise money for our school which directly benefits our children. Please contact us if you need our charity number. Thank you! PA NEWSLETTER Do you have any fundraising ideas? We would love to hear any ideas you have for fundraising events, for example charity cycle or running events. No matter how big or small we want to find new ways to raise money for our PA. We will be putting a suggestion box in reception for all these ideas. Please jot it down or alternatively just have a chat with any of the PA - all ideas welcome! Don’t forget next meeting on Tuesday 10 November at school! Welcome to the first PA newsletter of this year with our new PA Committee! We welcome Nadia Gribbins as your new Chair, Deirdre Jefferies (Vice Chair), Rachael Mills (PA Secretary), Lucie Greenwood (Treasurer) and Tina McGowan (Health & Safety). We had a fantastic turnout at our first meeting at the AGM. It was great to see so many new faces from parents across all years at school. There were some brilliant fresh ideas and we look forward to an exciting, event filled year ahead! If you missed this meeting we would love to see you at the next one on Tuesday 10 November at school! November 2015 Summer Camp We had another successful camp in July and all the Year 3/4 children and parents alike thoroughly enjoyed this special weekend. Despite the near apocalyptic thunder storms everyone got stuck in and spirits were high! This fantastic weekend wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of parents who really go the extra mile to make sure things run so smoothly year after year. Next year will be the last year for Julie Khoo and Liz Bangoura, following their huge commitment over the last 7 years. We will be looking for some new parents to take on this challenging but rewarding event. Please contact us if you would like to know more about it. We raised an incredible £ at the Summer Fair which we will use to buy new play equipment with soon. We could not have done this without your incredible support THANK YOU! Year 6 leavers party Every year some of the money we raise is used to organise our Year 6 leavers party which is a lovely opportunity for the children to say goodbye to friends and teachers and for the school community to wish them all the best for their future. 1
