4. A Risky Investment
In 1699, Scotland decided it would like to invest in a trading company. Many private citizens and the government invested in a company called The Company of Scotland trading to Africa and the Indies was created.
Decided to settle a colony, was working for other European countries.

5. Darien Decided to settle in Darien, modern day Panama.
