3 The Power of Encouragement
The Need and Benefit Hebrews 3:12-14

4 Ecouraging one another DAILY
Heb 3:12-14 – Take care, brethren, that there NOT be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end…

5 EXHORTING one another DAILY
Vines – (para, "to the side," kaleo, "to call"), (a) "to call on, entreat"; see BESEECH; (b) to admonish, exhort, to urge one to pursue some course of conduct… for good.

6 Reasons For Exhortation
God commands it Heb 3:13; Deut 6:24 We can develop an evil, unbelieving, hardened heart Heb 3:12-13, see 3:7-11; Psa 95 Sin is deceitful Heb 3:13; 1 Pet 5:8-9; Gal.6:7; 1Cor.6:9

7 Benefits Of Exhortation
Acts 2:40 – And with many other words did he [Peter] exhort and testify unto them saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.” So Peter is encouraging his audience to “pursue a course of conduct for good”, and they would in the next verse… “and they that gladly received his word were baptized.”

8 Benefits Of Exhortation
Acts 11:23 – When he [Barnabas] came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. Hey, it’s not by coincidence that the name “Barnabas” means, “Son of encouragement”!

9 Benefits Of Exhortation
Acts 14:22 – [Paul] strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” So Paul is preaching the same message, encouraging those disciples by exhorting them, “to pursue a course of conduct for good”

10 Benefits Of Exhortation
1 Thess 4:1-3 – Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality

11 Thus, the Benefits Of Exhortation
To Be Saved (Acts 2:40) To Continue With The Lord (Acts 11:23) To Enter The Kingdom Of God (Acts 14:22) To Urge A Life That Pleases God (1 Thess 4) To strengthen us in times of spiritual weakness! I say again, too often in too many churches, churches are failing to encourage & exhort one another!

12 Note: Result For Failing To Exhort
UNBELIEF, which causes God to withhold His promise Heb 3:16-19     This was seen in Israel’s failure! And it will be the failure of the Lord’s church today if we don’t repent for our apathetic attitude and begin extending brotherly & sisterly love to one another!

13 EXHORTING one another DAILY
Phil 4:8-9 – Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

14 EXHORTING one another DAILY
Phil 4:8-9 – Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

15 EXHORTING one another DAILY
Rev 2:10 – Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer… Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
