2 Mobility Mapping  What is it?  Mobility mapping is a visual representation of people’s movements within and outside their community.

6 PORPOSE OF MOBILITY MAPPING  it is easy because mobility mapping is that it is more relaxed than a formal interview & it is enjoyable for any type people.  It is use to understand place traveled, resources collected & identify person travailing  Type, level, and frequency of the family’s economic activities  PRA team need to know the critical goods

7 WHO?  The PRA team identifies individuals or group who travel to other places on a purpose.  Discussion with men and women travels can give a clue about resource scarcity.

8 HOW IT WORK  Select informants who travel for resources.  Write down as many places as possible visited and resources the most wanted.  The difficulties faced on the way and at the destination discussed.  The informants mark on the ground the starting point and destination for differences resources

9 Key elements  The participatory data generating process identifies local perceptions of people’s mobility/movements

10 CONTINUED  Data/information : This tool generates data and information; the only prior information required is for sampling analysts.  Skills : Good participatory facilitation and social analytical skills; a natural resource disciplinary background is useful.  Financial cost : This tool will cost, depending on the number of communities sampled and the geographical Scope of the study

11 Application of mobility mapping  PRA team and informant record the resources in sort supply and the reason for not having in the community.  The community plans include ways and means to get critical resources in future.  The difficulties faced on the road and at the resources center taken due consideration for improvement.

12 Limitations  Some mobility or movement issues (such as women’s mobility) might be sensitive in some local contexts.
