21 Suggestions if you are interviewed by telephone (Ceniza-Levine,2009;Hentz,2009; Needleman, 2009a, 2009b)  Prepare the same way you would for a face-to-face interview.  Speak slowly, calmly and clearly in order to be understood  Show a complete attention to the interviewer.  Prepare to sound sincere, enthusiastic, friendly yet professional.  Listens to questions carefully before answering.  Send Thank You letter.

23 Opening Phase – is just as essential for understanding as the introduction.  Rapport – a comfortable feeling that makes both participants receptive to the interview  Orientation - overall view of the interview.  Motivation - motivate the interviewee to give straightforward, complete answer.

32  Try to relax and be yourself  If a question catches you off guard, don’t rush unprepared into an answer.  If you don’t know or cant remember certain information, say so.  Use open ended questions to present information you want the interviewer to know.  Listen carefully to hypothetical questions.  Be attentive to the interviewer’s when direct or specific questions are asked.  Avoid answering yes or no to a loaded question  Beware of leading questions
