God chose Mary to be the mother of his Son, even before Mary herself was born. Mary remained grateful throughout her life.

4. Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette in Lourdes eight times. In Lourdes people go to pray to Mary. Mary asked Bernadette to go drink at the spring and wash yourself there.

6. During May, we think about Mary - and we try to live like her. Many people make a May in altar in May dedicated to Our Lady. This is a photo of me one morning ready for school in the month of May. I went out to my garden and picked a bunch of flowers for the May altar in school.

8. Think about that as we say the Hail Mary. The first half of that prayer is what the angel said to Mary, when telling her that she would be Jesus's mother. The second half is what Elizabeth said to Mary, when SHE was told the good news.

9. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

10. Father Peter on Tuesday afternoon said goodbye to a very special person in his life; his lovely mum. Let us pray for a while in silence and ask Our Lady to look after Father Peter.

13. Throughout May you are welcome to bring flowers to Mary and place them on our May altar. Today each of you will take away a flower as your go forth. You can colour the flower beautifully and write on it who you would like to pray to Mary for.
