Bob Marley sings about war in his song “War”. He believes that there will be war forever in the world unless all people can be equal in the world. Do we need war? 8 3. Introduce/Text Evidence/Explain +2. Introduce the text evidence from both works.. Provide background information for your reader. Explain why the quote is important. He states, ““That until basic human rights are equally granted to all.” (Marley) This quotation shows that Bob Marley believes in human rights for everyone in the world, not just his friends or own country. Laura, from “The Fanclub”, gives a speech that is similar to Bob Marley’s song. Laura states, “We consider ourselves open-minded liberals, but no one is free when there is someone being prejudiced against.” (Maynard 54). This is similar to Bob Marley’s song because both Laura and Bob Marley feel that if one person is not being treated equally, then no one is actually free. Bob Marley states, “That until basic human rights are equally granted to all.” (Marley) This suggests that Bob Marley wants equality for everyone.

4. Explain the Similarity +3. Explain how they are similar. This should be at least 2-3 sentences. They both believe that treating other people poorly is wrong and, as evidenced, human rights are meant for everyone, not just a small group of people. Both Bob Marley’s song and Laura’s speech imply that equality is important.

Bob Marley sings about war in his song “War”. He believes that there will be war forever in the world unless all people can be equal in the world. They both believe that treating other people poorly is wrong and, as evidenced, human rights are meant for everyone, not just a small group of people.

Is war a necessity? Some people believe war is necessary to be free, however, Bob Marley and Laura from “The Fanclub” believe that people are never free if war exists. Bob Marley states, “That until basic human rights are equally granted to all.” (Marley) This suggests that Bob Marley wants equality for everyone. Laura states, “We consider ourselves open-minded liberals, but no one is free when there is someone being prejudiced against.” (Maynard 54). Clearly, Laura believes that no one should be prejudiced against, meaning there should be equality in the world. Both Bob Marley’s song and Laura’s speech imply that equality is important.

“War” by Bob Marley Until the philosophy which hold one race superior And another Inferior Is finally And permanently Discredited And abandoned Everywhere is war Me say war. That until there no longer First class and second class citizens of any nation Until the colour of a man's skin Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes Me say war. That until the basic human rights Are equally guaranteed to all, Without regard to race Dis a war. That until that day The dream of lasting peace, World citizenship Rule of international morality Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued, But never attained Now everywhere is war - war. And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes That hold our brothers in Angola, In Mozambique, South Africa Sub-human bondage Have been toppled, Utterly destroyed Well, everywhere is war Me say war.
