2. Hello class my name is Thurmond Becote I live in Florence South Carolina I am married to Linda my lovely wife of thirty plus years. We have six children, four sons, two daughters and five grandchildren.

3. I am a high school graduate of Florence school District One and a former School Board Member (2006-2010) of that same district. I have a BA in Education Studies and currently an employee of the Darlington School District( Darlington Middle school), where I have been employed for the past nine years working with the Exceptional Education Department( TMD and ED).

4. I am a Minister at the church which I attend, and have a personal interest for the well being of all people helping the young and old to overcome the physical and spiritual obstacles of life.

5. Dr. Mays was an American black minister, educator, sociologist, social activist and the president of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia from 1940 to 1967. Dr. Mays was also a significant mentor to civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and was among the most articulate and outspoken critics of segregation before the rise of the modern civil rights movement in the United States.

6. Just like Dr. Mays, I would like to have an active role in helping to mold and to inspire young men and women to become future leaders the caliber of Dr. Martin Luther King.

7. I hope to have a job as a Principle of a middle school one day; as well as being the pastor my own church. Educating men and women totally.

8. I believe that having a Masters degree allow me to pursue those goals that I have set for myself; of one day being the Principle or an administrator and preaching to and educated church.
