2 Your task is to create a bumper sticker that illustrates one or more lab safety rules. Your table team will be assigned a series of rules. As a team you are responsible for producing one bumper sticker for each person at your table. The team is responsible for making sure each member has a creative idea for their particular message. Individually, you will take responsibility for producing one bumper sticker. To earn maximum points, your bumper sticker needs to: convey an accurate lab safety message in a memorable manner (Keep it clean and legal !) [15 pts] be creative (use a clever play on words or dynamic graphics or ???) (just because its colorful doesn’t make it “creative”) [5 pts] be visually appealing [5 pts] contain identification on the BACK - your name, date, class period, table #, and the rule #(s) that your bumper sticker addresses. [5 pts]

3 1)NO food, gum, or drinks at the lab tables! 2)No Horseplay! 3)Keep your area clean and organized. No clutter at the lab stations. 4)Wash your hands with soap and water after experiments. 5)Read and follow all instructions carefully. 6)Do not play with lab equipment until instructed to do so. 7)ALWAYS wear closed toed shoes!! 8)Goggles must be worn at ALL times! 9)Contacts should not be worn in the lab! 10)Pull back long hair! 11)Roll up loose sleeves 12)Do not pick up broken glass. 13)If there is a spill ask for instructions on how to cleaning up. 14)When using knifes or other sharp objects always walk with the points facing down. 15)Cut away from fingers and body. 16)Do not place a cord where someone can trip over it. 17)Unplug using the plug not the cord. Unplug all equipment before leaving the room. 18)Never look into a container as you are heating it. 19)Never leave a heat source unattended. 20)Never touch, taste, or smell a chemical unless instructed by the teacher. 21)Transfer chemicals carefully! Never mix chemicals unless instructed 22)Chipped, cracked, and broken glassware should not be used.
