3 Project’s goal Observing the transformation of the wheat seed starting from the day it’s cultivated up to the baked bread, freshly taken out of the oven

4 Objectives Sorting according to the requested criteria the didactic images and objects Identification and verbalization of the presented images/objects The correct handling of the work instruments Involvement in the activities

7 Materials needed Wheat seeds Husk Flour Wheat ears Grinding mortar Dough Yeast Bread Sieves Photos: wheat field, mill, Traditional bread oven Colored paper Glue

8 Didactic methods Conversation Story telling Explanation Demonstration Didactic experiment

9 Preparing the field for seeding Materials: Differently textured cardboard Scissors Glue Methods: Strips of cardboard are cut and glued so it will imitate the field

10 Seeding Materials: The cardboard field Glue Wheat Practical work: Between the cardboard strips children put the glue and after that the wheat seeds.

11 Learning about the plant Materials: Wheat grown in flower pots Practical work: Children study the plants and talk about it’s parts (root, leaves, etc.)

12 Wheat field Materials: Photos Colored paper Green wheat ears Dried wheat ears Glue Practical work: Images with wheat fields are presented On two colored papers children make wheat fields: one with the green wheat and one when the wheat is riped

13 Reaping and treshing Materials: Photos/Images Wheat ears Wheat seeds and chaff Practical work : Images with these activities are presented Each child will work with the wheat ears, take out the seeds and remove the chaff.

14 Grinding Materials: Photos Grinding mortar Wheat seeds Practical work: Children watch the images and listen to the stories related to these trades The wheat seeds are pounded with the grinding mortar

15 Sieveing Materials: Sieves Flour Practical work : The flour is separated by the husk

16 Preparing the dough Materials: Flour Water Yeast Salt Practical work: With the teacher’s help the ingredients are mixed

17 Kneading Materials: Flour Dough Practical work: The dough is kneaded with or without support from the teacher

18 Modeling the dough Materials: Dough Flour Practical work: The dough is shaped

19 Baking the bread Materiale folosite: Photos Tray Bread already baked Practical work : The freshly baked bread is presented

20 Tasting Materials: Freshly baked bread Practical work : Each child gets to taste the bread

21 Review Materials: The collages realized Wheat ears Grinding mortar Flour Dough Bread Photos Practical work : All the steps are reviewed insisting on identifying and verbalizing images and objects and putting them in the chronological order
