2 MoManufacturingWINs Grant The purpose of the Department of Labor grant Meet the growing workforce needs of the manufacturing industry. Provide educational and training opportunities to qualified Missouri citizens that leads to employment in a manufacturing career. SFCC one of 9 participating community colleges SFCC’s allocation: ~$996,000 of $15 million statewide Grant funding must be used between October 2012 through September 30 th of 2016. (3 year delivery, 1 year reporting)

3 SFCC Goals continued… We must find innovative ways to present programs. These include: Flexible schedules — “chunking”, 4-,8-, 12-wk formats Online or hybrid versions of new courses or programs. Standard practices to award credit for prior learning Introduce programs tied to industry and/or WorkKeys certifications Structure programs into stackable career pathways Structural Welding Skills Certificate…Pipe Welding Skills Certificate…Professional Certificate in Welding Technology…AAS in Metals Technology with emphasis in Welding Technology
