FORGOT PASSWORD? If you forget your password, you will click the “Forgot Password” link on the homepage of the x2vol website.

WHEN YOU ARE SUBMITTING HOURS, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE: Dates of service If your service was more than one day (mission trips) - choose the date of the last day of service. When you describe your service completed, you will indicate the dates of service. Name of organization (must be non-profit) Name of organization contact (your parent and/or a fellow HPHS student will not be accepted) - hours will be denied Phone number for the organization Email address for your contact A detailed description of the service you in which you engaged I worked at the North Texas Food Bank = hours will get rejected I helped build a fence, completed yard work, taught kids how to play soccer = good descriptions

IF YOUR HOURS ARE DENIED... There will be a reason written next to your submission explaining why your hours were denied. Most of the time, you forgot to provide some information. If you fix said issue and re-submit your hours, your hours will most likely be accepted. Read the Kiltie (pages 21-22) or visit the CSC website for FAQs regarding your issue - most questions will be answered here. If you are still unsure about why they were denied, or have other questions regarding denial of hours, contact Mr. Sanders (sanderb@hpisd.org)sanderb@hpisd.org Emailing Mr. Sanders should be your last step AFTER reading the Kiltie and AFTER visiting the CSC website

SUBMITTED VS. VERIFIED VS. APPROVED On the database, you will see three sets of hours: Hours submitted = hours you submitted for approval. This does not mean all these hours have been approved or will count towards your graduation requirement. Hours verified = the contact you provided for the organization you served will have the opportunity to verify that you completed the hours you are claiming. This does not mean that these hours meet the graduation requirement, so this doesn’t mean they will automatically be approved. Also, some organizations accidentally delete the email that provides the link for them to verify these hours, so some hours may never be verified, and that’s ok. If hours are not verified, does not automatically mean your hours will be denied. However, if your contact says you did not complete as many hours as you are claiming, you can count on those hours getting denied. Hours approved = these hours meet the guidelines outlined in the Kiltie and will count towards your graduation requirement Rarely do all three of these numbers match, the category you will be most concerned with is “hours approved”.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Direct donations (money or supplies) have a limit that will be counted towards your graduation requirement. For CSC approved donations, the formula we use is: $25 of donations = 1 hour, $50 of donations = 2 hours. 2 hours max will be approved. You MUST provide documentation (a receipt, copy of check) of your donation value. You can upload documents on x2vol, so this would be a good place to provide your documentation. Used items are not counted. Other organizations have different requirements for donations and what will count as hours (honor societies). Be aware that if a club says that $10 = 1 hour of service for their organization, this DOES NOT transfer to CSC hours. You still must follow our $25 = 1 hour and $50 = 2 hours in order for those donations to count towards graduation. You must also provide documentation of your donation (receipt, copy of check), or else your donation will not be approved.

MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: You are responsible for entering your hours to the database When you participate in school drives, or other club service activities, these do not get entered into the database for you. You have to enter these hours yourself and do so within 60 days of service. Again, the only exception to this are summer hours, which are due by October 28th by 11:59pm. Keep documentation of your hours (outside of the x2vol database). In case something happens to the database, you have a back up. Also, just because some hours won’t be approved for graduation, doesn’t mean they can’t count towards college application or scholarships. In addition, if you transfer schools, you will still have a record of hours served.
