2 How to Use SurveyMonkey To begin, open your browser Go to www.surveymonkey.comwww.surveymonkey.com Create and account Use and active e-mail for username Click on “New Survey” and select from scratch

3 Survey/Test Goals What do you want to know from the survey? What type of questions do you want to ask? Are these questions subjective or objective? Subjective questions require judgement Objective questions are closed-response multiple choice Who needs to take the survey/tests?

6 Question Sequencing Sequencing questions are to be placed in order from beginning to end. (Wyse, 2011) Sequencing tests learner’s ability to place events in order

7 Sequencing Questions Don’ts If there is more than one correct order; do not sequence Do not allow the learner to guess about information (Horton, 2010) Do’s Historic events by date Ranking value Indicate “chronological order” or from beginning to end Innovation by chain of events

8 Feedback from Learners Good Feedback Give scoring immediately Stay unbiased and be objective to customer’s opinions Do not ask unnecessary questions Avoid hypothetical questions

10 Results Processing Are questions weighted equally? Are some questions worth more than others? Not all assessments must be tests; they can be activities or projects Self-assessments is a rapid way to evaluate student comprehension Quizzes should be given when record keeping is required (Horton, 2010)
