16 2021 FTA TV households forecasts www.dataxis.com Webinar: Sept, 07 th 2016  End 2015, around 54 m FTA TV households, mostly relying on analogue terrestrial TV.  As Analogue Switch off is has been delayed. Dataxis expects the transition to DTT to be almost completed by 2021 with 58m DTT TV households, but also 15m FTA DTH !

17 FTA TV Revenues Forecasts for 2021 www.dataxis.com Webinar: Sept, 07 th 2016  Most African countries have a public television which used to have a monopoly status but with: o Limited funding o Poor management, and o Increasing competition from private operators  SABC is the dominant player  Private FTA TV has developed more recently, but has been handicapped by: o Cost of national terrestrial broadcasting before DTT o Small size of advertising market o Competition of Pay TV
