The Bucket List Witness something truly majestic Help a complete stranger Laugh till you cry Drive a Shelby Mustang Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world Go skydiving Pyramids/Rome/Stonehenge

Consider This List Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness/Goodness Faithfulness/Gentleness Self-Control

God’s Wisdom What you see is up to you Here are the qualities that will enable you to actually enjoy your journey These things help you enjoy the amazing and the ordinary These qualities work for everyone They work everywhere

Remember What to Remove Impurity in thought and deed Idolatry/corrupt speech Enmity/Strife Jealousy/Envy Outbursts of anger/malice Dissentions/Factions Drunkenness Selfishness

Romans 1:14-15 “I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. Thus, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome” My List needs to include obligations to be fulfilled. Start this list early in life

Hebrews 9:27 “Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” Death will end the ability to express my gratitude and love to people (Ecclesiastes 9:6). We are all “dying”, some just slower than others. Ecclesiastes 11:8-10 “Fleeting”

Thank You to Parents Obeying with honor (Ephesians 6:1-2) Taking care of them as they age (Mark 7:9- 13) Remember the family stories—especially the circumstances surrounding conversions Remaining faithful, “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth” (3 John 4)

Thank You to a Spouse Being a happy mate (Ecclesiastes 9:10) Fulfilling my vows Remaining faithful to God Listening carefully to their hopes and dreams and seeing what I can do to make some of them come true

Ecclesiastes 5:4,6 “When to make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it, for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow…Do not say in the presence of God that it was a mistake. Why should God be angry on account of your voice and destroy the work of your hands?”

Thank You to Siblings A good Christian example Keeping the family close—especially after the parents die Teaching my children the truth so that the cousins will all have a common faith (Jude 3), and so that family reunions will be times of spiritual refreshing and edification

Obligations to Myself Save myself! Acts 2:40 Finally beating that habitual sin Going an entire year without giving in Taking care of my soul Booking my eternal vacation

How? Have a definite strategy Accept the fact that this sin never delivers This temptation is always a lie I have needs that only God knows how to meet All I have to do is beat it today There is always a way out My desires are not too strong, rather they are too weak

Obligations to the Lost Places that I want to evangelize Thinking of fresh approaches to reach a friend that needs saving Getting good material in their hands Writing down why you believe

Obligations to Children Writing down a list of vital lessons that I need to impart to them Begin to write letters to my children, letters about my life, the lessons I learned, the things that I prayed for—concerning them, the happiness they gave me, my desires for their future, and all the times that God delivered on His promises

My Thank You to God Appreciating His grace 1 Corinthians 15:10 Being useful to Him

2 Timothy 2:21 “Therefore, if a man cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work”

Accept His Gracious Offer Listen to the Gospel—Hear it! Believe—stop resisting the obvious Repent—end the rebellion Confess—admit what is reality Be baptized—trust His way of saving you Be faithful—never cease being grateful
