The majority of instructional literature is recommended by the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) and is designed to address district and state performance standards. 5. Accommodations and Modifications There is a place in an Arcadia High School Orchestra for any student desiring to take part. Upon a request from the student, accommodations are made for those whose technical skills are below the basic level so that these students can participate in the full range of orchestra activities, including concerts.

6. Practicing (Homework) Each student will decide how much practicing is necessary to achieve the desired level of preparation for in-class rehearsals and playing quizzes. Your preparation will be reflected in your performance on seating auditions, playing quizzes, sectionals, and concerts.

7. Performances Orchestra is a performing arts class. Concerts and other performances are scheduled throughout the year for the purpose of providing evidence of academic achievement. Students are expected to demonstrate understanding of accepted concert protocol by participating in all orchestra performances. There are no make-up assignments for missed performances.
