3 Where He Was From  He was born and grew up in Charles City, Virginia  Benjamin Harrison V was born and grew up at Berkeley Plantation  His family was one of the most prominent planter families in the south

4 Family Life  His parents were Benjamin Harrison IV and Anne Carter  He was the oldest of ten brothers and sisters  Benjamin Harrison V married Elizabeth Basset who was his second cousin  They had eight kids which were Elizabeth Barner, Ann Coupland, Lucy Randolph, Benjamin Harrison VI, Carter Harrison, Henry Harrison(9 th president of the United States), Nathaniel Harrison, and Sarah Minge.

5 Fun Facts About Him  He helped write the stamp act  Benjamin Harrison V’s son and grandson were both presidents of the United States  He went to the college of William and Mary but didn’t graduate because his father and two sisters were killed in a lightening strike

6 Why He Was a Founding Father  He was in many important debates on independence resolution and wording over the Declaration of Independence  He had many key roles in politics in Virginia and was the Governor of Virginia 1782-84  Benjamin Harrison V was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1764 and 1777  Signed the Declaration of Independence when he was 50
