8. Other ways United Way helps 2-1-1: An information and referral hotline open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call to find or give help. Basic needs help like funding new programs during tough economic times, organizing community-wide food drives and starting a foreclosure prevention project Community initiatives such as Education Express and individual development accounts Mobilizing volunteers as individuals, families, community groups and companies.
