6 Sleep Quality VS Overall Sleepiness Correlation Coefficient -.71156 -.64861 There is a strong negative correlation between the hours of sleep I get (or the quality of sleep I get ) and my sleepiness the next day. This means that, on average, as I get more sleep I am less tired, and as I get less sleep I am more tired, which makes sense, if you think about it.

7 These 13 days are only a small part of the data I have collected using my sleep app. I have actually been using the app since September, and I’ve learned a lot from using it. The following include data from almost two months of Sleep Cycle use.

8 Average Bedtime: 10:43 Average Waking Time: 6 AM (Weeknights) or 9:15 (Weekends) Average Time in Bed: 7.27 Hours Average # of times awake during the night: 0.3 (Calculated)

9 This makes sense, if I got some sleep during the day, then I won’t be as tired and I won’t need as much sleep as I usually do. This is why I usually try not to nap, especially when I’m trying to keep a tight schedule for school. I’ve found that riding my bike about an hour before I go to bed has a profound effect on how well I sleep. It involves a lot of exercise, which helps me to get into a good mood and tired for bed. Going to Weights class, like riding my bike, helps me get more exercise so that I am more tired at the end of the day. However, Weights takes place in the morning (as opposed to right before bed), so it doesn’t have as huge of an effect on my sleep quality. I’ve found throughout the course of this study that the quality of my sleep corresponds greatly to the mood I’m in when I fall asleep. If my day was stressful (or especially if I know I have something stress-inducing the next day, like a test), I will probably be in a bad mood when I go to bed and, therefore, will likely not sleep as well as I usually do.
