7 Expectations Students are expected to be respectful of their classmates and adults in charge at Blue Hills. If you cannot meet these expectations, you will be consistently (i.e. all the time) be held accountable using the BIST plan.

8 What is BIST? BIST stands for Behavior Intervention Support Team. It’s a way for you to have grace and accountability with the help of the Blue Hills staff. 10 Classroom Safe Seat The student will be asked to process with an adult. At times, the students will complete a think sheet and process with the adult in charge (or where it occurred— example, classroom, specials, or the lunchroom) before moving back to your regular seat. 11 Think Sheets A think sheet is a way for you to examine your behavior and make a plan to make good choices. 12 Buddy Room Students who are disruptive in the safe seat will be sent to a buddy room (another classroom) to problem solve using a think sheet. 13 Returning to the classroom Students who use the buddy room must return to their safe seat in their classroom and process with their classroom teacher before returning to their regularly assigned seat. (It’s like taking a trip. We make stops along the way to get there. And on the way home, we also make stops to get back where we started.) 14 Recovery Room The name says what it is, “a room to recover” from the behavior that is preventing you from being in our classroom family. Students who cannot or are not ready to accept responsibility for their behavior will be sent to the recovery room.
