Get your website built up! Present an attractive, user friendly website that has all the resources available and in plain site. This doesn’t mean one page with everything crammed onto it. Use web space correctly and effectively.

Keep your website updated! Make sure to have all of the most popular social media links available for easy sharing! Keep an accurate information, news, maps, deals, ect..

DO! ● News - keep people updated on what is going on with Habitat ReStores, keep interest! ● Share partnerships! We want to give our partners recognition.

● Find new donors! Post about how and where people can give to the cause! If people are reminded often enough and shown what it means to support the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity they will be more likely to donate themselves. ● Bring in volunteers. This is pretty self-explanatory. People want to do good deeds. Spreading the word about volunteer activities will get more volunteers in. Simple as that.

● DIY projects! DIY is trending and as a green non-profit selling gently used recycled furniture and appliances we could really be getting a lot of attention from DIYers looking to do their next project in an affordable way. We should be posting projects from DIY projects consistently. People don't want to see pictures of things in their before stages without a little inspiration for what can be done with these wonderful recycled goods. So, I propose we minimize the use of pictures of the ReStores themselves and focus more on these great projects. Have crafters post their completed ReStore projects! Get them involved too!

● Sales in the ReStores? Well, post it to Facebook and make sure people mention they saw us on Facebook! Maybe even ask them to post pictures of their finds from the ReStores and the projects they are going to be used in? ● Cross media post! Something trending on Twitter? Share that on Facebook! ● YouTube on Facebook could be fantastic! For the people interested in getting the message, how to help, where to help, and feel good vibes all at one time - a video is probably the best way to get them into the ReStores.

● Share our non-profit mission and vision statements-often! Let people know what the purpose is behind Habitat for Humanity and the importance of the ReStores to that mission! ● Stress that we are a GREEN - Recycle/upcycle organization!

Don’t! ● Use for personal political agenda! We are non-partisan! We keep the name of our organization out of politics. That is not a part of our mission or mission vision. ● Use a gossip column. This is a non-profit organization, not a personal page. ● Forget to keep current and interesting! If you aren't updating often enough or giving people enough to keep interest we are going to lose potential volunteers, customers, and donors.

DO! ● News ● Partnerships ● Donation options ● Volunteer opportunities ● DIY projects completed by ReStore customers (always # as #DIYReStore) ● Sales ● Cross media posts ● Mission and Mission Vision ● Green

Don't ● Forget to use the hashtag! (#) ● Forget to tweet often! ● Forget to post DIY projects tagged #DIYReStore ● Get political!

Go Green! Recycle, reduce, reuse with Habitat for Humanity ReStores to complete your DIY projects! #DIYReStore ◦ This will automatically link this new post to any Habitat ReStore post hashtags that match. Making it easier for people to find what they are interested in conveniently located in one place. hashtag

This one’s for the DIY fans! Post submissions from other sites to the board! Getting specific about the ReStore name and location does NOT work for Pinterest! Post to Habitat for Humanity ReStore board!
