3. General Information  The London eye is one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world.  It is located in London near the Thames.  The wheel was constructed by David Marks and Julia Barfield.  The height of the wheel is 135 metres.  The total weight of the wheel is 1700 tons.

Interesting Information  Each cabin-capsule weighs 10 tons.  The speed of the wheel is 26 cm per second, 0,9 km per hour.  One turnover of the wheel takes about 30 minutes.  The wheel does not stop to let passengers out and in.  It stops only for old people and invalids.  The London Eye is highlighted in the evening.
