1. For the characters in our trailer, we decided to follow Propp’s character types theory. Once again linking our trailer to Sorority Row and Scream we decided to base our characters personalities from the characters in these films. We also decided to have the main cast be female, as the survivors are stereotypically known to be female. We had five main characters: 4 female victims; Buffy (the sporty character), Kirby (the geek character), Tatum (the promiscuous character) and Nina (the final girl).Thomas (the villain/Nina’s boyfriend) who we chose to be the villain based on the Scream trailer. We chose these names from horror films and programmes, choosing some from Scream franchise, so once again it linked to our trailer. CHARACTERS

2. COSTUMES Costumes are very conventional in a slasher horror and we wanted to follow this when creating our characters. We decided to mirror the personalities of our characters through their costumes: Buffy is wearing a sports t-shirt and leggings to convey that she is the sporty and tough character. You then have the character Kirby who wears a t-shirt, cardigan, leggings and glasses, which shows her as the geeky character. The next character is Tatum, who is wearing a low cut top and cardigan with shorts and tights to convey that she is the promiscuous character. We then have our final girl Nina who is wearing a white t-shirt and leggings in the dance scene to symbolise her innocence. For the villain he is dressed in completely black and is wearing a mask, because we found in any good slasher film the villain is kept hidden and remain anonymous, such as Scream and Halloween.

3. EQUILIBRIUMMOMENT OF DISEQUILIBRIUMDISEQUILIBRIUM Following Todorov’s narrative theory, we made sure that we showed our equilibrium, moment of equilibrium and disequilibrium. We didn’t show any new equilibrium, because we noticed trailers don’t tend to, so the audience doesn’t realise the outcome.
