4 1. Plasmon waveguide with MODE solution effective refractive index 2. Design of grating coupler with MODE solution to achieve the same effective refractive index as the plasmon wave 3. In the case of not getting the same RI, design of FBG with MODE solution 4

5 Plasmon waveguide : gold on top of oxide layer L=5 micrometer, thickness=0.5 micrometer Neff=1.45,loss=467 dB/cm 5

6 Can we deposit the metal layer on top of the oxide layer as a post process just on a specific part of the structure without affecting the rest? Can we collect the light back to the same grating coupler? How possibly we can couple the light to plasmon waveguide? 6
