3 AASE stands for the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence Led and delivered by England Hockey in conjunction with Loughborough College Delivered through a series of camps and local NAGS Academy sessions WHAT IS AASE?

4 Tier 2 athletes who are entering year 12 in Sept 2015 Tier 2 = U17 HiPAC or U18 Futures Cup (including non- travelling reserves) Eligibility is on school year due to the academic qualification that is part of AASE. U17 athletes who are entering year 11 in Sept 2015 will be eligible for NAGS Academy (Monday night sessions) only. You will be eligible for AASE in your U18 year, if you are selected for U18 Futures Cup. WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

5 Programme runs January 2016 – March 2017 4 National Camps Lilleshall NSC, Shropshire Weekends/school holidays – January, Easter, Summer Camp and School Games if selected, December Mixture of on pitch work, strength and conditioning and classroom work AASE DELIVERY

6 Run in small teams (10-16) with athletes from your NAGS Academy centre (where possible) Each team has a dedicated England Hockey Coach/Mentor and a dedicated Loughborough College Tutor Very little work outside of the camp environment Progress reviews (45min phone call) every 7 weeks Corrections/upgrades to work AASE DELIVERY

7 What does AASE comprise of? Pitch sessions – including NAGS Academy (Technical and Tactical) 3 x 1 hour sessions 1:1 with AASE coach Strength and Conditioning work (Physical) Nutrition including 3 x 1 hour sessions 1:1 with nutritionist Psychology including 3 x 1 hour sessions 1:1 with psychologist Careers Finance Anti-doping Lifestyle Health and Safety AASE DELIVERY

8 Integral part of the AASE programme Also attended by U16 and U18 NAGS athletes and all U17 HiPAC athletes. Run at 10 sub-regional centres across the country Approximately 15 Monday nights from 30 th November - June NAGS ACADEMY

9 UCAS POINTS New for Players enrolling in October 2015 Players who successfully complete the AASE Programme will receive 85 UCAS Points

10 SCHOOL GAMES

11 International tournament Early September (1 st – 4 th September 2016) Great opportunity to play matches against Wales, Scotland and Ulster Part of the third biggest multi- sports event – only the Olympics and Commonwealth Games are bigger! SCHOOL GAMES
