2. Introduction ● Soil erosion is a natural occurring process that affects all landforms. In agriculture, soil erosion refers to the wearing away of a fields topsoil by the natural physical forces of water and wind or through forces associated with farming activities such as tillage

3. Research ● Erosion,whether it is by water, wind or tillage, involves three distinct actions – soil detachment movement or deposition. Topsoil, which is high in organic matter

4. Question/Hypothesis How does ground cover affect soil erosion I think that if u plant grass it will help prevent soil erosion

5. Materials ● 6 sixteen ounce bottles,dirt, grass,leaves strings tape

6. Procedures ● Prepair three idetical bottles. Cut a hole in the bottom of the bottles. Make two holes for the string. Put the same amout of dirt and grass in each bottle.put inside the second bottle some dead vegetal wastes. Spead some seeds in the first bottle. Cover a layer od groud and press the water. Then put the cap on the first bottle. Then test you can see clear water out of the first bottle.

8. Results ● The bottle with just dirt had the most erosion. The bottle with leaves and sticks had the second most amout of soil erosion. The bottle with grass had the least amout of erosion

9. Conclusion ● My hypothesis correct. Ground cover prevents soil erosion

10. Abstract ● My topic in science is soil erosion. I think if you plant grass you will have less erosion. And if you don’t have groud cover you will have more erosion. ● We prepared three identical bottles then cut a hole in the bottom of the bottles. Put the same amount of dirt in each bottle. Put inside the second bottle some dead vegetal wastes. Cover with a layer of ground and press. We saw that the bottle with no ground cover had the most soil erosion. And the bottle with grass had the least erosion
