2 PAY Salary.com – $31,840/yr. BLS.org – $29,370 per year Income The above salaries for Medical Assistants are averages. The range is anywhere from $21,000 to $41,000.

3 EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS There are two paths to becoming a medical assistant. 1.Associates Degree in Applied Science 2.Certificate Program One can find these courses at local colleges, technical or vocational schools. Note that some states do not require formal education in this field.

4 TRAINING A medical assistant degree or certificate program can take up to 2 years. Courses of study might include: Transcription Biology Psychology Pharmacology Allied Health Coding Medical Terminology Anatomy and Physiology Core College Courses How to Become a Medical Assistant
