2 Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program Mission: To diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go. Impact: The Gilman Scholarship Program has awarded over 19,000 U.S. undergraduates of high financial need to study or intern abroad, who come from over1,100 institutions and have studied in more than 140 countries around the world. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs

17 Ways to Increase Applicants & Recipients 1.Spread the word (Pell recipients, financial aid, faculty, promote recipients on campus) 2.Serve as a selection panelist and/or recommend colleagues on campus 3.Access our resources (FAQs, order materials, webinars, videos, social media) 4.Host Gilman events on campus and use Gilman alumni services 5.Follow up with applicants who didn’t submit
