3 3 Who is Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan? Helen Adams Keller (1880~1968) was an American author, activist and lecturer. She started woman suffrage campaign, the abolition of capital punishment campaign, Child labor and racial segregation against Campaign. She is a socialism intellectual. Anne Mansfield Sullivan (1866~1936) was a teacher best known as the tutor of Helen Keller. She taught to Helen Keller. She began teaching Keller nouns using the sign language alphabet signed into Keller's palm.

4 4 Story Summary In 1887, before Helen Keller was seven years old, she met teacher Anne Sullivan. Anne taught through writing words on Helen’s palm of the hand. Helen didn’t know what was that mean, and just learn it. One day, Anne tried to explain about water and mug. But Helen can’t distinguish them. So, Anne helped Helen to feel water by skin. Through this course, Helen realized mystery of language and her mind filled with eager to learn.
