2. VI. Truancy Section A.  Reflects the change in the compulsory age of attendance: 16 to 18.  Gives the school the right to deem an absence excused/unexcused.

3. VII. EXCUSED ABSENCES Section A.  In addition to medical verification, gives the school the right to ask for other verification.  Gives examples of family leave (OCR tight point).

4. VIII. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES Section D.  Holds district accountable to consistent application of truancy procedures (OCR tight point).  Allows for a immediate referral to State’s Attorney’s Office if welfare of the child is in question.
