2 Challenge 1 – WMAS WMAS to deliver ‘High Quality Patient Care through a skilled and committed workforce in partnership with other NHS allies’ In excess of 7000 patient contacts per day In excess of 5000 responses to patients in crisis per month across the region Understanding WMAS involvement in your plans

3 Challenge 2 - Partnerships WMAS NHS FT has own action plan to improve MH provision in line with the Crisis Care Concordant

4 Challenge 3 - Funding Funded to deliver an immediate response to all health 999 calls and urgent admissions Current commissioning agreement for MH response can be up to 4 hours (Patients detained under MHA) No additional funds for individual MH training No additional funds for MH provision outside of acute service

5 Actions to date Head of clinical practice with focus on Adult/Child MH Engagement with all eight MH partnerships to include CAMHS Engagement with four Police Services Involvement in street triage program/s (Regionally) Emphasis on education of our staff Partnership with other Ambulance Trusts (National Ambulance Mental Health Group) Full support from all Ambulance Chief Executives
