4. Knowing God’s Word Nahum is the author of this book (1:1) Nahum is Nahum or Nachoum in Hebrew, meaning “comfort” or “consolation” The name is the abbreviated form of Nehemiah which means “comfort of Yahweh” He was from Elkosh (perhaps Capernaum)
