1 Busting Myths on Getting a High Score in IELTS Test

2 IELTS tests your four skills for non-native English users, namely listening, reading, writing and speaking. There are certain prevailing false notions regarding getting a high score in IELTS. These myths are likely to badly hit your score in the test. Apart from these myths, it is important to know regarding the examiner’s expectations. You can choose any of the option in speaking test. Not knowing how to approach the test when preparing, you might get a very low score.

3 Choosing a single option When it comes to answering IELTS questions, there is not an answer that is right or one that is a wrong. The examiner assesses the applicant's lexical resource, pronunciation, grammar, fluency and coherence.

4 Insisting that own opinion is right IELTS does not seek to test your knowledge or your critical ability. It is test of your English skills. You might have logical opinion on some issues and the examiner has his/hers. When you’re sitting for this test you need to agree with their opinion and that alone prevails. Note that the examiner is going to judge your English speaking skills, and judging the correctness or of your opinion.

5 Easier testing centers You can get a high score fooling the examiner. Many training programs assert they can teach their students tricks that could help them fool the examiner and get a good score. Examiner’s friendliness It is not because of the examiner's behavior that you get a low score. They are friendly to all equally. They are focused on their work and therefore, cannot go obstructing you to get a good score.

6 Studying hard is enough To many students, there is a mistaken belief that just studying for the exam helps strongly in getting good score in IELTS. Here practice plays a great role in bringing a high score. If you've good English, it is still better. Therefore it is important to make your English better before you dist for this test. Start working general English before you start for IELTS. You require some 200 hours of study to improve your score to the next level. There are gifted students who can achieve the same much faster.

7 You’re not expected to ask the examiner to repeat the question The speaking test in the test does not intend to test your listening skills. Therefore, it is permissible to ask your examiner to repeat the question if cannot write. Even the native English speakers may not able to hear a question and are likely to ask the examiners to repeat the question. It is best use this facility when you feel there is an absolute need, such problems might come up because of the difference in accent in different parts of the globe.
