Science and engineering week 2014. Winning team of our squashed tomato challenge! Pupils showing of their research about Water pollution during assembly. Pupils sharing their Mars research with the rest of the school.

We love hands on science! How many mini beasts can we identify in our school grounds? Can you design a toy using your knowledge of electrical circuits?

It’s much better now that our resources are organised! Before PSQM After PSQM “We work really hard during our lunchtimes to tidy and organise our science resources. The cupboard is really organised now, which means we can have cooler lessons!”

TEACHERS NOW HAVE A CLEARER VISION ABOUT TEACHING SCIENCE! Teachers trying out some great, new resources.

Teachers learning about the 5 areas of enquiry. This makes our science more hands on! Teachers now use skill progressions in their planning to make sure we are meeting our potential!

Our teachers make our science meaningful to us! Teachers introduce topics in an exciting way to increase pupils curiosity. Display showing how teachers link science to other topic areas.

Display showing the use of ICT to research adaptations of organisms. Example of a pupil applying her learning.

We love to learn about science whenever we get the opportunity! Pupils learning about first aid techniques. Whole school science challenges.

Science crew Congratulating The winner of a Science crew competition. Children learning about how Smoking affects our bodies. Year 4’s enterprise project.

We value science at PBA! Before PSQM “My teacher talks too much and then we don’t get chance to do the investigation!” “I wish we could do more investigations.” “I don’t like it when we have to do lots of writing in science.” After PSQM “When I grow up I want to be a scientist!” “I love doing science blasts, especially when we make things explode!” “I like it when we get to go outside for science, like when we identified the trees on our school field.”
