(Red book pages 68-69 + Applied book pages 89-90) C reate three separate fact sheets giving details of each of the impacts (Social, Economic and Environmental) under the headings: Positive Impacts or Negative Impacts

8 If tourism produces so many negatives WHY is it growing rapidly as an industry???????????? JOBS ~ millions of people all over the world depend on tourism for their livelihood. Without it they would be unemployed and would end up living in poverty. Also, tourism produces a MULTIPLIER effect…………….. jobs in tourism give people more spending power eg. in shops, so more shops are needed = more jobs created. People with jobs need more consumer goods eg. TV, computer – this creates jobs in manufacturing

11 When travelling in Yorkshire, please observe the Countryside Code. Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work. Guard against all risk of fire. Fasten all gates. Keep your dogs under close control. Keep to public paths across farmland. Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls. Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone. Take your litter home. Help keep all water clean. Protect wildlife, plants and trees. Take special care on country roads. Make no unnecessary noise.
