Algebra 2 Chapter 3 Review Sections: 3-1, 3-2 part 1 & 2, 3-3, and 3-5

Essential Questions How does representing functions graphically help you solve a system of equations? Students will solve a system of linear equations by graphing the equations to find the point(s) of intersection. How does writing equivalent equations help you solve a system of equations? Students will use substitution and elimination methods to write equivalent equations until they get an equation with only one variable.

What You Need to Know Solve system of linear equations in two variables graphically and with a table. Classify and determine the number of solutions of a linear system in two variables from a graph and without graphing. Solve a system of equations application problem by graphing or using a table. Solve a system of linear equations using substitution.

What You Need to Know Solve a system of linear equations using elimination. Solve systems of equations using substitution or elimination that have no solution or infinite solutions. Classify and determine the number of solutions of a linear system in two variables using substitution or elimination. Solve a system of equations application problem by substitution or elimination.

What You Need to Know Solve a system of linear inequalities by graphing. Solve a system of inequalities application problem by graphing. Solve a 3 ⨉ 3 system of equations by elimination. Classify and determine the number of solutions of 3 ⨉ 3 system using elimination. Solve a 3 ⨉ 3 system of equations application problem by elimination.

Assignment Ch-3 Review, Pg. 193 – 196; #4 – 20 all, 24 – 27 (use elimination) all.
