12 Problems of the Great Depression 4. The Dust Bowl- a period of severe dust storms that caused major damage to mid-western land from 1930 to 1936 caused by severe drought and decades of over- farming without crop rotation or soil conservation.

14 Problems of the Great Depression 5.The Bonus Army- 20,000 World War I veterans that marched on Washington, D.C. demanding a bonus that was promised to them by the U.S. government. President Hoover called in the army to remove the veterans who had camped near the capital building. This action made many Americans mad at the President.
