3. Background GOMC Request In the past, some Councilors have expressed concern regarding the Council’s role in approving budgets. At their March 2013 meeting, the GOMC Working Group requested presentation of the budget approval process.

Current Procedure Overview Detailed budgets reviewed for advice and recommendation by: Committee Co-chairs and/or Contract Manager Management and Finance Committee Budget summaries reviewed for recommendation by: GOMC Working Group Budget summaries approved for use by : Gulf of Maine Council Gulf of Maine Association

Changes from Current Procedure Detailed budgets reviewed for advice and recommendation by: Committee Co-chairs and/or Contract Manager Management and Finance Committee GOMC Working Group Budget summaries reviewed for recommendation by: Working Group Budget summaries approved for use by : Gulf of Maine Association Budget summaries provided as informational items to: GOMC Council

6. Recommendation Recommendation: Determine if the Flow Chart descriptions in the June 2013 Working Briefing Book meet the needs of the GOMC and make recommendation to Council for approval.
