3 When am I ever going to use this stuff?
This is a project to determine how chemistry relates to YOUR life

4 What's Your Plan? Soon (ish) you will be finished with the part of your life where you have to go school every day By that, I mean that after high school, going to school is your choice – Right now, legally you have to go to school.

5 What are you going to do after high school?
What is your life plan? Please use the “Chemistry of Life” paper to brain storm (5 minutes) Think about what you want to do with you life. Write down jobs you might like to do Can’t think of any jobs? Write down things that you like to do Do you have expensive hobbies? likes? Then, you need to think of a job that can pay for those.

8 Choose your Topic What interests you?
Think about that plan you wrote out … Your job is to choose a topic The project is to research your topic and how it uses chemistry.

Don’t worry too much about how it relates to chemistry That is what you’re going to be researching Please take 5 minutes to choose your topic Please write you topic down in the space provided on the “Chemistry is Life” paper

10 How to complete your project
Research your topic Document your research Cite your sources! Create an infographic Show the connection between your topic and a chemistry concept Pose and Present your infographic Post your infographic to your period’s padlet Present your presentation to the class (3-5 minutes)

Be sure that you created an infographic that is the same number of pixels wide and long you’re printing to This is a free converter. Type in the inches of your paper. It converts that to pixels. 14 Day 1 Required: Complete the section on Chemistry
Choose your topic Tell the teacher your topic

15 Day 2 Tell the teacher what concept in chemistry your topic is an example of (how are you relating it topic to chemistry) Create your infographic (see the slide with the inches to pixels converter) Printed infographic due Monday April 4 Be sure that your infographic includes a variety of graphics. The use of pictures, symbols, charts (pie, bar, line, etc) help us understand the topic and how it relates to chemistry. Be sure to cite the source of your graphic if not your own creation!

16 Day 3 Work on your class presentation.
You may use a Powerpoint, Sway, or Prezi for your presentation. Be sure to include your infographic and resources in this presentation. Post your infographic on the class padlet site. Look on teacher website for link to padlet! Be sure to include your name. Respond to 3 other infographic posts in your class period. Extra credit if your infographic is posted by Monday April 4

17 Presentation Due on April 8. You have 3-5 min to present your topic and explain how it relates to chemistry. Be sure to explain how you choose your topic. How it relates to chemistry. Show your infographic and cite your sources.
