12 Whooping Crane Stopover Habitats on Fort Sill Army Base, Oklahoma Friends of the Wild Whoopers and Gulf Coast Bird Observatory personnel visited Fort Sill Army Base, Oklahoma on October 8, 2015 to assess potential “stopover habitats” for Whooping Cranes. The Whooping Crane Stopover Habitats project is a joint effort by the two conservation groups and is sanctioned by the Department of Defense Partners in Flight organization.
