3 Status of the Population  Biomass estimate for 2009-2010 season was 38,409 tons  A significant increase over previous season estimate of 4,844 tons  Increase due to strong recruitment of 2-year old herring (2007-2008 year class)  Low harvest rate recommendation provides a sustainable fishery and continued stock rebuilding
