4 3 Copyright ⓒ 2008 Daesung Information all rights reserved Recording * Preparation before you set up the recording condition * 1) Connect the cables such as power, camera and sensors located at the rear panel. 2) Insert the hard disk(Mobile rack) to DVR 3) Connect BNC cable(Video) and power(output DC 12V) cable at the front panel to monitor and put the power ON. 4) If hard disk inserted to DVR is not used for DVR or new hard disk it will show the format massage in initial screen. Input password(12345678) move the cursor to “START INITAILIZE” and press “ENTER”. 5) Adjust the camera angle and fix it watching the monitor.

Move the cursor to “VEHICLE SET”. 2) Input the figures to set up the condition according to the instruction from Manual. 3) Move to “RECORDING SET” and input the figures to set up the recording condition according to the instruction from Manual. 4) Input the correct time if it is not correct. Vehicle Setting * Press the "MENU" button and it will show the initial menu screen as follows : ( [Figure-1]) * "Vehicle Set" helps you to set up the vehicle information and recording options. Use the arrow button and select "VEHICLE SET" and press "ENTER"( [Figure-2] Vehicle Set ) 1) Vehicle No - Input the vehicle number using the numerical key of the remote control. 2) Line No - Input the line number of the vehicle using the numerical key button and you can input symbols utilizing number "10" key. 3) TACHOMETER - This is pulse figure to recognize the speed of the vehicle. - Basically, you put the figure of "9600" and "4800" utilizing the numerical key button. Vehicle Set 4) Recording - It has continuous recording, sensor related front door recoding and DVR function. ① CONTINUOUS - For continuous recording ② SENSOR RELATED FRONT DOOR - Record only when sensor detect certain movement of the passenger or other object. ③ DVR - This including above ① and ② function and you can use motion function. You can select the option with Left/Right button. * Remarks : Set only recording set event figure in ① and ②. In option ③ you should put both normal figure and event figure in continuous recording and the both figure should be same. But just set the event figure when you use the motion function. [Figure-4] Power cutoff set _ Function On [Figure-3] Power cutoff set _ Function off 5) Power Cutoff Set ( [Figure – 3], [Figure – 4] - This is to prevent from the battery discharging by setting up the time. - If the secondary power is not supplied during the set up time it goes to "Stand-by" mode and it gets back "ON" when time is up. - Set up the time using Left/Right button. * You should connect the secondary power into the DVR and the "CUTOFF FUNCTION" should be "ON". ※ When you set the starting time, it should be before midnight. (Example : from 22:00 to 05:00 (Correct), from 01:00 to 05:00 (Incorrect)

Vehicle Set [Figure-5] SEARCHING ONLY[Figure-6] RECORDING WQUIPMENT 6) You can select one among RECORDING EQUIPMENT, SEARCHING ONLY and AD SYSTEM. - Recording Equipment : For recording - Searching Only: For Searching - AD System : This Function is not selectable 7) SEARCHING OPTION SET ( [Figure – 7] ) - Recording option set up for the various kinds of searching function. ( [Figure-8] ) - SPEEDING LIMIT : Speeding standard. - SPEEDING RECOGNITION TIME : Speeding detection time. Set with the Left/Right button. Example> Above diagram shows the speed limit of 60Km/h and the detection time is 3 second. If the vehicle runs more than 60Km/h speed for more than 3 seconds it is marked as speeding. But, if the vehicle runs more than 60Km/h speed for less than 3 seconds it is not marked as speeding. ② SUDDEN STOP : Set the sudden stop standards. ( [Figure-9] ) - SUDDEN STOP CHECKING SPEED : Standard speed of sudden stop. - SUDDEN STOP RECOGNITION SPEED : Recognition speed of sudden stop. Use left/right button of remote control. Ex> Above condition shows that the minimum speed of sudden stop starting speed is 20 Km/h and the recognition speed is 10 Km/h. If the vehicle is running under 20Km/h, it is not recognized as sudden stop. If the speed is reduced more than 10Km/h within 0.2 seconds when it reduced from the speed of more than 20Km/h. ③ SUDDEN START : Set up the sudden start standard. ( [Figure-10] ) - SUDDEN START CHECKING SPEED : Starting speed. - SUDDEN START RECOGNITION SPEED : Recognition speed. Use left/right button of remote control. Ex> Above example is based on starting standard speed of 0Km/h and recognition speed of 20Km/h. If the recognition speed difference is more than the recognition speed within 0.2 seconds it is marked as sudden start. [Figure-10] SUDDEN START

11 10 Copyright ⓒ 2008 Daesung Information all rights reserved ④ DOOR OPEN DRIVING : Set the standard of door open driving. - DOOR OPEN RECOGNITION MILEAGE : Set the distance which is recognized as door open driving. - Use Left/Right button of remote control. Ex> Above figure shows that if the vehicle moves more than 5 meters when door opens it is marked as door open driving. ※ Above 4 functions (Speeding, Sudden Stop, Sudden Start and Door open driving)are available when it is connected with the digital type speedometer. ⑤ SENSOR RELATED FRONT DOOR : Set the recording with the sensor installed at front door - SENSOR RELATED FRONT DOOR RECORDING : Select "ON" or "OFF" - BEFORE : Set the time from the sensor detection to start recording. - AFTER : Set the recording time. - Use Left/Right button of remote control. Ex> Set the time as above figure if you want to search 5 seconds before "sensor related front door detection" and 5 seconds after last sensor detection. Vehicle Set ⑥ SURVEILLANCE FUNCTION : Set the surveillance time period. - SURVEILLANCE FUNCTION USE : Select "ON" or "OFF" - CONTINUOUS WAITING TIME : Starting point of surveillance function and same as the secondary power off time. - RECORDING INTERVAL (SECOND) : Recording interval - Use Left/Right button of remote control. Ex> Above figure shows that the surveillance function will start 2 minutes after the secondary power off and will be recorded every 2 seconds. ⑦ TOKEN BOX SENSOR : You can set the condition of the token box sensor operation. This function works when the surveillance function is "ON". - TOKEN BOX SENSOR USE : Select "ON" or "OFF". - CONTINUOUS WAITING TIME : This is the basic time to start surveillance function. This is related to the secondary power and this is the time to turn off the secondary power. - AFTER : Set the time before the sensor detection starting moment. Ex> Above figure shows the setting condition : To record from 5 seconds before the sensor detection after the 2 minutes after the secondary power off to 10 seconds after the last sensor detection moment.

Vehicle Set 8) EEP UPDATE ( [Figure-15]) - This function is for the transmission of the saved setting from the searching DVR to hard disk. - You should set "Searching Only Equipment" and after you save the setting and push "EEP UPDATE" for transmission. You should use the password to use this function. (Basic pass word :12345678) [Figure-15] EEP UPDATE 9) ADVERTIZING SET - Set the advertising display. 10) SETTING / EXIT - You should push "ENTER" for saving after you change the setting.

Press "MENU" at initial screen and press "RECORDING SET" and you will have the below menu screen. [Figure-1] Main menu[Figure-16] Recording Set 1) RESOLUTION - You can set the 3 kinds of resolution. They are 720×480, 720×240 and 360×240. - Use Left/Right button of remote control. 2) PRE RECORDING - Set at 1 second. 3) AUDIO - You can select one out of ADPCM, PCM and OFF. Generally select ADPCM. - If you don't need audio recording, select "OFF". - Use Left/Right button of remote control. 4) CH 1, CH 2, CH 3, CH 4 - CH 1 Use the Up/Down key to select CH 1 and push "ENTER" or push the numerical key "1" button. - CH 2, CH 3, CH 4 They are CH2, CH3, CH4 and same as above CH1. Recording Set [Figure-17] Normal recording[Figure-18] EVENT recording 5) NORMAL PICTURE QUALITY / FRAME ( [Figure-17] ) You can select picture quality and frame/sec. Push "ENTER" and you will have the followings. - Use Up/Down key to select the column and use Left/Right key to select the quality. (This menu only works when the recording type is set at "DVR") - If you want change the channel, push the numerical key which you want to select. - RESOLUTION : If the resolution is displayed on the screen, you can not change it on this screen. - PREVIEW : You can use this menu when camera is connected. You can estimate possible recording time with this resolution you are watching. - SETTING / EXIT : When setting is finished push "ENTER" to save the settings. 6) EVENT PICTURE QUALITY / FRAME ( [Figure-18] ) - Use Up/Down key to select the column and use Left/Right key to select the quality. - You can only use this function when the recording type is selected as "CONTINUOUS" or "SENSOR RELATED FRONT DOOR". - If you want change the channel, push the numerical key which you want to select. - RESOLUTION : If the resolution is displayed on the screen, you can not change it on this screen. - EVENT HOLD TIME : This function is used in "Motion Function" and generally set it at "1". - PREVIEW : You can use this menu when camera is connected. You can estimate possible recording time with this resolution you are watching. - SETTING / EXIT : When setting is finished push "ENTER" to save the settings.

Recording Set [Figure-19] Picture Control 7) Picture Control - This is to set the screen picture quality and you can not change the channel on this menu. - Use Left/Right button of remote control. 8) VIDEO LOSS ALARM SET : OFF 9) SETTING / EXIT - Press "ENTER" to save the setting.

Searching [Figure-20] Searching * Press the “PLAY" button and it will show the initial menu screen as follows : ( [Figure-21] ) - How to use "PLAY" menu and matters to be attended. * Use Left/Right/Up/Down to change the menu. * When you have the menu you need press "PLAY" or "ENTER". * Initial play speed is double speed. * You can change play speed with Up/Down button and the maximum speed is 64 times. * Press Right button for "FORWARD" and Left button for "REWIND". * Initial play shows only one channel. If you want to watch 4 channels press "QUAD". * Press "ENTER" for "PAUSE". * If you want to review forward, press Right button, and if you want to review backward press Left button from the "PAUSE" position. * Press "MENU" for the OSD OFF and if you want it back ON press "MENU" one more time. * It will show the message of "LAST RECORDING" when it is the end. * Press "ESC" if you want to stop playing. * Audio speed is only normal speed.

Searching 1) SEARCHING TIME SET You can select searching time by second. - 'PRESS [PLAY] KEY TO CONTINUE' will flicker with red letters. - Move the cursor to the channel you want and press "‘PLAY" or "ENTER" and you will have the following screen - Input the date and time you want to review and press "PLAY" or "ENTER". [Figure-21] Searching Time Set[Figure-22] Searching Time Set _ 2 [Figure-23] Search by recording time 2) SEARCH BY RECORDING TIME - You can select the date of 15 days and 24 hours a day and helps you search easily. - You can select the date with Left/Right button of the lower part( [Figure-24] ), and you can select the time and channel with the Left/Right/Up/Down in the middle of the remote control and press "ENTER" for playing. - Rest of the selection method is the same as basic selection method. - The section with the colors are recorded sector and empty section is empty sector. Searching 3) SENSOR RELATED FRONT DOOR - This shows the summary of the recorded data at "MENU>VEHICLE>SEARCHING OPTION SET>SENSOR RELATED FRONT DOOR" menu. - This shows from current data to old data. Press "MENU" button to see the initial data and press Up/Down button to move one column and press Left/Right button to move to another page. - Move the cursor and press "ENTER" to see the data. - When you press "ENTER" and it will show the data by each column in sequence on the list. - This works when one channel is on the full screen, but it shows one data only when 4 channels are on the screen at the same time. 4) SEARCH BY FUNCTION SETUP - This searching menu shows by the 5 pre-set conditions. : SPEEDING,SUDDEN STOP, SUDDEN START, DOOR OPEN DRIVING and TOKEN BOX SEARCH [Figure-25] Sensor related front door [Figure-26] Search by function setup

Searching ① SPEEDING SEARCH - This menu shows the moment of the speeding from the recorded data. - This shows from the current data to old data and press "MENU" button to see the initial data. - Press Up/Down button to move one column and press Left/Right button to move to another page. Move the cursor and press "ENTER" to see the data. - You can check the date and time of the speeding period and maximum speed. - LOC(LOCATION) : This shows the location of the accident and you should install GPS function to use this. ② SUDDEN STOP SEARCH - This is the searching menu for sudden stops. - This shows from the current data to old data and press "MENU" button to see the initial data. - Press Up/Down button to move one column and press Left/Right button to move to another page. Move the cursor and press "ENTER" to see the data. - You can check the date and time of the sudden stops and also shows starting speed and final speed of sudden stops. - LOC(LOCATION) : This shows the location of the accident and you should install GPS function to use this. ③ SUDDEN START SEARCH - This is the searching menu for sudden start. - This shows from the current data to old data and press "MENU" to see the initial data. - Press Up/Down to move one column and press Left/Right to move to another page. Move the cursor and press "ENTER" to see the data. - You can check the date and time of the sudden starts and also shows starting speed and final speed of sudden starts. - LOC(LOCATION) : This shows the location of the accident and you should install GPS function to use this. Searching ④ DOOR OPEN DRIVING SEARCH. - This is searching menu for door open driving. - This shows from the current data to old data and press "MENU" to see the initial data. - Press Up/Down to move one column and press Left/Right to move to another page. Move the cursor and press "ENTER" to see the data. - You can check the date and time of the door open driving and its time and distance. - LOC(LOCATION) : This shows the location of the accident and you should install GPS function to use this. ⑤ TOKEN BOX SEARCH - This is the searching menu for the data when recorded by sensor detection. (You can use this searching function when you set "FRONT DOOR SENSOR RELATED RECORDING".) - This shows from the current data to old data and press "MENU" to see the initial data. - Press Up/Down to move one column and press Left/Right to move to another page. Move the cursor and press "ENTER" to see the data. - LOC(LOCATION) : This shows the location of the accident and you should install GPS function to use this.

The others [Figure-32] DISK STATUS-1 [Figure-33] DISK STATUS-2 1) DISK STATUS - It shows the storage capacity and occupied storage capacity. - Above picture shows that the hard disk storage capacity of 100GB and 00% of the hard disk is occupied. - ENDLESS RECORDING / FULL CAPACITY RECORDING When you select this function, it will be recorded continuously and if the storage is fully occupied, the recording data will be overwritten on the hard disk automatically. If you don't want to overwrite, select "FULL CAPACITY RECORDING". The recording will be finished when the hard disk is fully occupied. - Use Left/Right button of remote control. [Figure-34] MOTION DETECTION 2) MOTION DETECTION (ONLY DS-1000 ) - Channel Set : Move to the channel you want and press "ENTER" or push numerical key which you want to select. - Above figure shows the default setting. If you do not want to use multi channels, set it as follows : Select channel by pressing the numerical number(1, 2, 3, 4) and move cursor to detection column and press "ENTER". The channel you want to change will be turned "OFF". Result : Before change : “CH 1 : ON”, After change "CH 1 : OFF" You can set other channel as above method. Move to "SETTING / EXIT" after the setting is finished and press "ENTER" to save the settings.

The others * ‘MENU  UTILITY’ [Figure-35] UTILITY [Figure-36] DISK TEST 3) DISK TEST - This menu is to test the hard disk and storage of the DVR. When the test is finished "END OF TEST"(with red color) message will be flickering on the bottom left of the screen. - Test time will be proportional to the recorded data. - Press "ESC" if you want to move previous step. [Figure-37] FORMAT(DISK INITIALIZE) 4) FORMAT - You can format the storages such as hard disk. In order to format hard disk or other storage enter password and push "START INITIALIZE". If you do not enter password, you can not select "START INITIALIZE" or "EXIT". - When you press "START INITIALIZE" it will be rebooted and formatted at the same time.

The others [Figure-38] RESET(FACTORY SETTING) [Figure-39] CLOCK SETTING 5) RESET - This is for the reset of the DVR. - You have to enter the password for "RESET" and it will start rebooting and formatting at the same time. 6) CLOCK SETTING - You can adjust date and time. - Use Left/Right button to adjust the date and time. - SETTING / EXIT : When setting is finished push "ENTER" to save the settings. [Figure-40] OSD SETTING [Figure-41] PASSWORD CHANGE 7) OSD SETTING - This is to adjust the monitor picture quality and letter. BACK / FOREGROUND HALFTONE : Change the tone of the letters. SPACE ONLY HALFTONE : Monitor picture tone will be halftone and the letters will be bold. NO HALFTONE : Both monitor picture tone and letters will be bold. - SETTING / EXIT : When setting is finished press "ENTER" to save the settings. 8) PASSWORD CHANGE - You can change the password of DVR. In order to move to other menu, you should enter the current password. Initial password is 12345678 and press "ESC" if you don't want to use this function.
