The more oxygen that muscles receive, the more energy they can produce and the better you feel.

12 Resting Heart Rate Your resting heart rate should be taken while in a lying position before getting out of bed American Heart Association established a range of 50 to 100 beats per minute for resting heart rate as normal Over 70 bpm have a greater risk of a heart attack than those with resting hear rates below 70 bpm

13 Resting Heart Rate By keeping track of your resting heart rate, you can measure the progress gained in your cardiovascular fitness program An active person has a lower resting heart rate than an inactive person The heart of an active person pumps more blood with each beat, thus working more efficiently

14 Recovery Heart Rate To determine when it is safe to progress in your training program, you should check your pulse after the exercise session to determine your recovery heart rate. Heart rate should drop to 120 bpm by 5 minutes Heart rate should drop to below 100 bpm by 10 minutes If not reduce the intensity level of your workout If so you can slowly increase the intensity level of your workout
